Concrete is one of the strongest compound in the planet. Wood on the other hand is a traditional building material. Most people prefer to have it mixed with concrete because the aesthetic looks a and feel of wooden materials could not be duplicated by pure concrete. Now, you can't simply stick the wood directly to the concrete wall.
